Overview
Kisspeptin acts on neurons in the hypothalamus that release GnRH, which in turn controls LH and FSH from the pituitary. Kisspeptin-10 is the shortest fragment with full activity at its receptor (KISS1R, also known as GPR54).
It is studied to understand puberty, fertility and how the reproductive hormone system is switched on.
