Overview
LL-37 is the only cathelicidin produced by humans. It is made by immune and skin cells and forms part of the body's first line of defence against bacteria, viruses and fungi.
Beyond killing microbes directly, it influences the immune response and promotes wound repair, and it is studied for its ability to disrupt bacterial biofilms.
