Overview
Semax is based on a short piece of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), extended to make it stable. Unlike ACTH it has no hormonal effect on the adrenal glands.
Research has linked it to increased BDNF, a growth factor for nerve cells, and to recovery after stroke. It is an approved medicine in Russia.
