Overview

TB-500 is a synthetic peptide modelled on the active region of thymosin beta-4, a protein present in almost every human cell. Thymosin beta-4 binds actin, the protein that forms the cell skeleton, and helps regulate how cells move and organise.

In research it is used to study cell migration, new blood-vessel growth and the repair of damaged tissue, mainly in animal and cell models.

Research areas

  • Cell migration and actin regulation
  • Wound, skin and corneal repair models
  • Heart and muscle tissue repair after injury
  • Inflammation and fibrosis
